Details of Summative assessment

In the summative assessment, you work will be assessed in criterion E. Students need to bring their felt cake to the assessment. After the assessment, they have to submit the felt cake with the paper at the end of the assessment. Besides, students can answer all the questions with the Technology holder which will be distributed to them at the beginning of the assessment. For you reference, you may refer to the cover page of the assessment .

Briefly mention what would be included in the plan stage, what the plan is used for, what the final product will be, where you will make the felt cake, etc.

Here comes to the workshop of Textile Technology. In the workshop, you will learn the procedures of setting up a sewing machine and sewing skills (sew a straight line and a circle).

Dear all Year 6 students,

In the Textile Technology, you are going to have a task which is making a felt cake. We are going to have some work in investigation, plan, create, evaluate stage.

First of all, you need to develop a mind map to brainstorm the unit "making a felt cake".

In the mind-map, you can start your brainstorming with the unit "making a felt cake". Then you make think about any idea links to the unit, such as " the method of making a felt cake", "the color", "the texture", "the style", "the function", "the tools and materials" and the "types of cakes". After that, you may names different methods, colors, texture, styles that you can think of under the title.

3) What is a felt cake?
A felt cake is a DIY carft which is made from felt and polyester wadding (www.craftbits.com/project/yummy-felt-cake). It can be made by any stitching(http://www.craftbits.com/project/yummy-felt-cake), cutting(http://www.she-wears-flowers.com/2011/01/felt-cake-tutorial.html) and sewing. It is not a real cake so that it cannot be eaten, but it looks like a real cake.
